It takes faith to plant a seed - faith that it will burst out of its little shell and grow into something, perhaps small like clover, perhaps huge like a shady oak
It takes faith to graft a branch of one tree onto a root of another - faith and hope that it will take, that the sap will run, and life will shoot up into that little branch, sending out new leafs and branches.
It takes faith to purchase land, especially in the dead of winter, or when you realize there is a legal battle going on way over your head - faith to press on, seeing the potential, trusting that it will come through, and you and a bunch of other people will make something beautiful - see something beautiful emerge from this land.
It takes faith to step back and watch things grow - limiting your engagement with it all, not cutting back the weeds, but observing what grows where, and realizing that what you might have thought were weeds, are actually lovely flowers, perhaps even edible, or medicinal. It takes faith to reconsider the weeds.
"Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?" - Matthew 6:28-30
